We were up at sparrow fart to get going with primer coat #2. When I woke up, still feeling pretty rough I wasn’t sure this was a good idea. The thought of poor Tom having to face this alone though was enough to get me up, drugged up and pillioned on the back of his bike (quietly muttering to myself that I’d probably live to regret this).
We started at the front of the boat and worked our way back taking one side each. It’s pretty tricky with the 2nd layer to see where you’ve painted already, so I developed a system of painting loooong lines from the waterline to the mid point underneath. Pretty proud of my technique I summoned Tom to come and take a look. The smug smile quickly disappeared from my face when he cringed at seeing the very obvious stripes and he then showed me how The Internet People say it should be done.
At around 14:00 we finished up and headed home for an afternoon of indulgent film watching. Bliss!
