No rest for the wicked. Actually, thankfully today there was because try as we might, they wouldn’t let us into the yard to start the painting (which was actually a bit of a relief!). They’re closed on a Sunday you see.
This morning we said goodbye to the AirBnB and hello to the hotel, which is to be our home for the next 5 days. We cleaned up as best we could (not that it made much difference to be honest) then headed to the marina to collect my bike. Being chauffeured around on the back of Tom’s bike is really the only thing I’ll miss about our stint in Sant Adria de Besos. Bike collected we headed back to checkout. The host, really nice as he is, can talk and talk and talk so we had to very politely try to extricate ourselves so we didn’t end up being there until dinner time.
We cycled to the hotel and stood at the check-in desk looking really out of place and in danger of knocking a few stars off the hotels rating. Tom was dressed in his usual just-off-a-building-site-mate attire and I was quite the washer women carrying 5 shopping bags bulging with left over food from the fridge, wet washing, laptops and shoes.
It was a quick turnaround then off to meet Matt for brunch, a Bloody Mary for the road in our favourite haunt then back to sleep and prepare the week ahead.
