After having spent far longer in Sardinia than we’d planned (time just flew!) we’ve set ourselves roughly a week to sail Corsica. We’ve found three or four nice anchorages along the west coast so we’ll work our way up spending a night or two at each. Our first port of call was Porto Pollo, about a 6 hour sail from the south.
Before we set off we gave our furler another wash. It’s starting to stick again and running hot water through it did the trick for a while last time. It’ll need a proper fix over the winter. As forecasted there wasn’t any wind so it looked like we were in for a long motor. We were wondering whether we were going to get any wind at all in the next few days so en-route we checked the updated weather forecast. Nothing nothing nothing – until Saturday when it looks nasty! The darker the colour, the more windy.
We definitely do not fancy being at anchor when this arrives so we emailed a few marinas to see if they’d have space for us. We’ll keep checking and hope that it dies down. Motoring up the coast was lovely. Since we arrived we’ve heard low level rumblings of thunder over the hills, and from the sea the clouds hanging over the land looked dark and ominous. At around 15:00 we arrived at Porto Pollo and found it to be a lovely big bay set off a long sandy beach – with horses on it! We had a play around on the boards and planned our trip for tomorrow.
Vielleicht solltet ihr auf Pferde umsteigen, da braucht ihr keinen Wind?
